Evaluation Services
Dr. King is an experienced self-pay provider. This means she provides the evaluation you need quickly without insurance involvement. Many clients choose this option because they value seeing an experienced provider who can see them soon, answer their question fast, and help them get the treatment they need.
1
Why Choose Dr. King?
My main expertise is in psychological evaluations, and I specialize in ADHD and Autism evaluations. I can also answer more general psychological questions, rule out other diagnoses (like bipolar or personality disorders), or conduct assessment for IQ, learning disability, or memory concerns. I provide results directly to the client and I can also send a summary of findings to referring providers or other organizations to help facilitate medication management, therapy, or accommodations at work or school.
2
What is your wait time?
I can see most clients within 1-2 weeks of their request for an appointment. I ask that you send me any records you'd like considered prior to the appointment. We may meet for several hours on the day of your appointment, and most of the time clients receive feedback the same day.
3
What makes Dr. King different?
Great question! I have provided psychological evaluations for over 15 years and able to answer many evaluation questions same day because of that expertise. No two evaluations are the same and I will tailor your assessment plan to meet your needs and ensure that your questions are answered. Your assessment will include an in-depth interview, questionnaires, and may also involve completing some tasks. Some clients have a friend or family member who provides information for the evaluation as well.
4
Why choose self-pay?
Self-pay allows me to focus on you, not your insurer. Many insurers require prior authorizations and limit the amount of services. This results in long wait times and often does not allow for same-day evaluations. Many self-pay clients also value their privacy, as insurers often require providers to submit your health records to them to determine whether they will authorize testing, or to determine whether it is medically necessary. Other clients have high deductibles and coinsurances and prefer the discounted self-pay rate.
5
Can I still use my insurance?
Yes, clients can pay a provider directly and still use their out-of-network benefits. To do this, you may submit a receipt called a superbill to your insurance and your insurance may then provide reimbursement for the service to you. Some plans have excellent out-of-network benefits while others do not. Your benefits are between you and your insurance company, and I cannot guarantee reimbursement.
6
How much should I expect to pay?
The cost of the evaluation depends on the questions that need to be answered and the documentation or other resources the client needs. Evaluation prices start at $1250 and most evaluations are between $1750 and $2250. Once I have more information, I can form a starting evaluation plan and provide you with pricing specific to your needs.
7
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! I am pleased to offer clients several payment plan options.
