How Can Dr. King help me?
Adults- Dr. King works with many adults who are struggling to be successful at school, work, or in managing a home. Whether the problems are related to ADHD, Autism, anxiety, depression, or trauma, she has the tools and experience to support you in reducing symptoms, improving functioning, and achieving your goals. Clients may meet with her weekly, biweekly, or even monthly depending on their needs and where they are at in the treatment process.

Children and teens- Dr. King collaborates with school and parents as needed to support the client in developing tools and strategies for success. Treatment focuses on happiness, emotion regulation, improving executive functioning, as well as how to ask for help.

For all clients, if requested, Dr. King can collaborate with your medication prescriber, as well as provide information to support accommodations at school, for assessments, or with an employer.
Commonly Asked Questions about Therapy
1 / When can I (or my child) be seen?
Dr. King can see most clients within a week of their appointment request. She offers appointments throughout the day and does not offer evening or weekend times. Doctors notes can be provided for school or work as needed.
2 / How often do I come?
Therapy starts with an initial session that is longer and covers the history, current difficulties, and allows us to decide on a treatment plan. Most clients begin with weekly sessions as this is the most effective way to approach therapy and how therapy effectiveness is usually studied. Sometimes clients may come less often, such as every other week or monthly. Decisions on frequency are between you and your provider.
3/ How long does therapy take?
For most clients, therapy is time-limited and progress will be monitored regularly. When clients maintain treatment gains for a period of time, the frequency of sessions may be reduced and treatment is ended when there is agreement that goals have been met. If progress is not being made at an expected rate, progress will be discussed and an alternative treatment approach will be employed or alternative referrals may be provided.
4 / Does Dr. King prescribe medication?
No. Psychologists in the state of Nebraska do not prescribe medication. While many mental health problems improve with therapy alone, medications may be beneficial in some cases. If it is determined that medication may be beneficial, Dr. King will provide referrals. If you already have a medication provider, Dr. King will collaborate with them (with your permission).
5 / Is she in-network with my insurance?
Dr. King is a direct-pay provider, meaning that she is not in-network with your insurance and you pay her directly for the services. She does offer payment plans. If you would like to explore possible insurance reimbursement and use your out-of-network benefits, please contact your insurance and ask Dr. King for a special receipt called a superbill.
6 / How much does therapy cost?
The initial session is $325. Subsequent session fees vary depending on session length. Most clients pay $280 per session. You will receive more information about billing, fees, and payment options upon scheduling. If you have more questions before then, feel free to reach out.
7 / I'm ready to schedule! How do I do that?
Great! You may call or text Dr. King at (402) 413-6537. She may also be reached via email at DrKing@bwcnebraska.com. She will then be in touch with you regarding scheduling options.
